Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nursing - active license in the state of practice upon hire

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing nursing care objectives, defining nursing interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health care team, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and supporting patients, families, and friends
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, conferring with family and friends, developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing objectives, and defining interventions, schedules, and timetables
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care skills, answering questions, and providing information and resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing patient records, noting changing conditions, re-evaluating care objectives, and modifying the nursing care plan
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations, and alerting others to potential concerns
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Keeps patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
