Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN, RN II, RN III) governed by the Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code, professional standards, and Rogers Memorial Hospital policies/procedures
  • Ability to seek consultation with health team members as needed
  • Provide patient information to Patient Accounts for compliance with federal/state statutes
  • Availability for part-time (24-32 hours/week) or pool (minimum 8 shifts/month, 3 weekend shifts) schedules across AM, PM, and NOC shifts
  • New grads welcome; new employee retention bonus up to $15,000 for those not employed at Rogers in past 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial assessments and document pertinent data (patient strengths/limitations, cultural/spiritual/ethnic factors, discharge needs, medical/physical status, medication history, age-specific needs) within prescribed timeframes
  • Involve patient's support systems (family, friends) in assessment, observe/document interactions, and obtain data from them as appropriate
  • Act as patient advocate: explain rights, obtain signatures on consents, protect privacy/confidentiality, assist in orientation
  • Employ hospital policies on unit safety, gown/contraband searches respectfully, and provide unit information sensitively
  • Initiate, update, and participate in treatment plans: plan/modify care, evaluate data from others, participate in care conferences/staffings, develop/interpret goals with patient/family, review lab data, assess falls/self-abuse/suicidality/assaultive risks, develop age-appropriate interventions, document changes/interventions
  • Implement patient care (as indicated in the provided duties)
