Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of related experience within a laboratory setting (helpful); experience working in customer service (plus)
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a desire to deliver excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor, and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values (including confidentiality)
  • Strong desire to serve the customer and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site
  • Ability to independently operate handheld scanners to enter data in various systems and analytical skills to reconcile reports
  • Computer proficiency with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite; ability to multi-task and meet due dates
  • Ability to work primarily at customer sites, including independent work in spaces with chemical-based allergens
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses
  • Ability to lift 30-40lbs typically and up to 50lbs occasionally; push/pull up to 100lbs using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts
  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting) for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, outside, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Use inventory/order management electronic systems for on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing
  • Perform laboratory services such as order delivery, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and media preparation
  • Analyze, maintain, and reconcile various reports to ensure contractual requirements are met
  • Proactively collaborate with the supervisor on any customer concerns and/or potential problems and effectively address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes
  • Engage in safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation as required
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
