Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred)
  • 1 year of lab services experience required
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Prior knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements preferred
  • GxP Experience and IATA/DOT certification is a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service (including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values)
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand the complexity of various work environments and work safely following all policies and procedures
  • Ability to lift 30-40lbs regularly, up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100lbs using equipment like pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, outside, etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime or independently as needed
  • Willingness to wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.), including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glasses

Responsibilities

  • Travel to provide support at multiple customer facilities for scheduled and unscheduled gaps in coverage (70-80% of the time locally in the Greater Boston region, including Cambridge; in some cases, for extended periods)
  • Inventory Management: Stock room, POU management, dispensing of products, etc
  • Order Management: Order entry, order expediting, customer service support, etc
  • Chemical Management: Receive, register, and track chemical containers, etc
  • Glass wash Operations: End-to-end glass wash sterilization processes including inspection of glassware, etc
  • Dock and Shipping Management
  • Drive Process Improvement culture
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
