Requirements

  • Qualify as a Vistra First Line Supervisor
  • Willing to travel to other Vistra Nuclear Plants in support of outages, dry cask storage, outage prep activities, training at OEM facilities, and benchmarking operations

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate refueling resources to support safe, reliable, and efficient outage activities consistent with Vistra Fleet and station goals
  • Coordinate resources internally to Refueling Services and with support organizations to ensure work schedules are completed during off-outage work windows
  • Support other organizations such as new fuel receipt and dry cask storage
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned Refueling Services personnel and contractor personnel supporting Refueling Services
  • Supervise craft personnel to assure all assigned maintenance activities are performed safely and effectively, by qualified workers, and in accordance with procedures, NRC regulations, and the site schedule
  • Participate in work control coordination, scheduling, and engineering meetings involving online and refuel outage activities to ensure assigned work is properly assigned, planned, and ready to work
  • Communicate and address plant and personnel issues to the Site Refueling Services Manager and station management; foster open communications and collaboration between all organizations including site management, INPO, and regulatory agencies
  • Administer coaching, mentoring, and performance management for assigned employees; ensure effective communication of company programs, announcements, policies, etc
  • Understand, support, and administer Vistra processes such as the training program, surveillance program, procedure revisions, and CAP to ensure effective work practices; work with Site Manager and Technical Assistant to identify and support improvement opportunities
  • Support maintenance on fuel handling equipment including PM schedules, corrective maintenance tracking, and upgrade implementation
  • Supervise maintenance on reactor services tooling including PM schedules, corrective maintenance tracking, upgrades, and replacements; coordinate with RP/decon to support RCA work for tooling rebuilds
  • Support tooling assessments to validate fleet tooling needs, ensuring consistency across the Vistra fleet and maximizing synergies
  • Support the Technical Assistant in providing firsthand user experience to assist with the development of engineering change packages
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems
  • Identify equipment issues and create notifications to track them, ensuring reliable performance of head area maintenance and underwater tooling/equipment
  • As needed, provide input to assist with preparation of plans and specifications
  • Work as part of the fleet team to evaluate Reactor Services activities and recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design, or improve worker safety
  • As requested, provide input to assist with planning for work orders for site Refueling Services
  • Provide input and assist with review of the Refueling Services outage schedule
  • Perform safety and human performance observations of Refueling Services personnel during outage and non-outage work periods; coach and correct behavior gaps
