Requirements

1 year of industrial maintenance education preferred (e.g., industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience
Certification as RETA Operator 1 required; RETA Operator 2 and 3 preferred
3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent required
Basic computer skills to log information, process daily work orders, complete documentation, and utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills (percentages, fractions, measurements)
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally
Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop
Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling; frequent overhead work
Ability to work in temperatures from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees inside plant; outside work may be needed
Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired
Ability to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as Emergency Responder Technician Level

Responsibilities

With minor supervision, provide maintenance support to ensure safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems
Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment
Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals
Perform robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs
Perform emergency mechanical or electrical repairs
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment
Understand boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics
Participate on the Emergency Response Team
Minimize downtime due to equipment and system failure
