Requirements

  • 1 year of industrial maintenance education preferred (e.g., industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience
  • Certification as RETA Operator 1 required; RETA Operator 2 and 3 preferred
  • 3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills to log information, process daily work orders, complete documentation, and utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills (percentages, fractions, measurements)
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop
  • Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling; frequent overhead work
  • Ability to work in temperatures from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees inside plant; outside work may be needed
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired
  • Ability to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and training to be certified as Emergency Responder Technician Level

Responsibilities

  • With minor supervision, provide maintenance support to ensure safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems
  • Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment
  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals
  • Perform robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs
  • Perform emergency mechanical or electrical repairs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment
  • Understand boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics
  • Participate on the Emergency Response Team
  • Minimize downtime due to equipment and system failure
