Requirements

  • Adheres to FMCNA Compliance Program, including all regulatory and policy requirements
  • Knowledge of FMCNA policies, procedures, and training for radiological equipment operation and quality control
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique according to company policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations
  • Compliance with HIPAA policies and standards for patient confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Medication Labeling Policy in the Sterile Field Competency
  • Ability to input patient data into C-Arm and process x-ray images for archiving to CD/DVD
  • Willingness to train in Interventional Radiology (as stated: "We will train a RT in Interventional!!!")

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians in performing all types of interventional radiology procedures
  • Operates and performs quality control on radiological equipment per FMC policies and procedures
  • Prepares patient and procedure room for radiology procedures, including reviewing orders, setting up/stocking supplies and trays, and cleaning post-procedure
  • Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, addresses concerns, and prepares patients (positioning, shaving, prepping)
  • Performs patient transfers, positioning, and transports to/from procedure room
  • Acts as scrub assistant during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy
  • Draws up intravenous medication and labels per policy
  • Processes x-ray images and archives to CD/DVD for medical records compliance
  • Supports FMCNA quality standards through CQI practices, regulatory compliance, and facility action plans
  • Maintains accurate, complete medical records, performs audits, and ensures environmental integrity (cleanliness, safety)
  • Inspects equipment daily, makes recommendations for repairs/replacements, and assists with hazardous waste disposal
  • Manages supplies: inventory, ordering, re-stocking, and efficient utilization to prevent wastage
  • Participates in Governing Body and CQI meetings, assists with agendas, data gathering, and physician communication
  • Trains and orients new employees on equipment
  • Ensures accurate patient billing by reviewing procedures, documenting charges, and verifying CPT/ICD9 codes
