Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability and willingness to obtain/retain a tow motor certification
  • Ability and willingness to scan or input into the computer system, all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs
  • Ability and willingness to follow formulations on the computer and accurately record and report food safety or product information
  • Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level 20 pounds or greater frequently
  • Ability and willingness to lift/lower/carry 20 pounds or greater with back and legs
  • Ability and willingness to use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously
  • Ability and willingness to reach high and low levels, frequently
  • Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently
  • Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours, required
  • Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees
  • Ability and willingness to work in hot temperatures 90 degrees to 100 degrees

Responsibilities

  • Keep all areas of the smokehouse department clean, including cleaning floors, walls, and ceilings with chemicals
  • Clean lights, floor scales, waste meat containers, and doors
  • Keep all department equipment cleaned and properly stored
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department
  • Chemically clean racks and sticks
  • Comply with certification for chemicals
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management
  • Gather and wash equipment according to specifications and use/operate equipment including racks and sticks
