Pass Quality Department test for Level B with minimum passing grade of 85%
Ability, and willingness, to improve skills through cross training to level up to Level A in Pressroom
Strong math skills (e.g. trigonometry, algebra, and statistics)
Comfortable with measuring products with little to no supervision utilizing precision equipment to 0.0001 discrimination
Basic computer skills (e.g. MS OS, MS Office) and knowledge of control plans and inspection methods
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills (8D)
Able to work overtime as needed
Pass competency review of all 20 elements after being trained on Level B competency skills
Detail Oriented to perform precision inspections with repeatability and reproducibility
Responsibilities
Perform layouts on fabricated and sub-assembled products to ensure they meet design intent utilizing metrology equipment and blueprints
Perform part changeover first piece inspections
Proper setup of parts from reading a blueprint utilizing datum schemes
Weld destruction and life testing of product with testing equipment
Knowledge of and understanding of GD&T and ability to validate compliance
Knowledge of SPC, capability studies, and what standard deviation represents
Interact with Quality and Manufacturing personnel and troubleshoot when issues arise
Utilize precision measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, calipers, torque testers, tensile testers, hardness testers, and CMM’s along with other metrology equipment)
Perform skilled calibrations and certifications on small metrology tools
Maintain quality, production, and safety standards following all ISO and company procedures
Recognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Knowledge of weld and assembly fixture nets pads, locator pins, and clamps and effect on build condition
Complete other departmental tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Zone Leader
