Requirements

Associate's degree in a science-related field (preferably Biology); Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field preferred
1+ years related experience performing chemical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic, or other analytical techniques (2 years preferred); working knowledge of EMPOWER is a plus
Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Access
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills (preferred)
Strong organization and detailed planning skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures
Good knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including GMPs (preferred)
Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to apply mathematical operations
Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch for prolonged periods; lift/carry 25-50 lbs., push/pull 50-100+ lbs.; arm/hand/finger dexterity; visual acuity; ability to sit, reach, talk, hear
Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6pm-6am) on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule in cleanrooms, cold rooms/freezers (-22°F/-6°C), with PPE, hazardous materials, loud noises, strong odors, etc
Adherence to GMP safety standards and cleanroom restrictions (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, etc.)

Responsibilities

Perform analyses including instrumental and automated methods using prescribed procedures and techniques
Generate valid data, report results on appropriate database compared to established specifications while adhering to GMPs
Compare laboratory results with specifications for acceptability and determine if repetition or OOS is required
Maintain equipment and troubleshoot instrumentation problems, procedural problems, or production problems
Review and understand SOPs and analytical procedures as needed
Schedule activities to meet target dates for customer needs
Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements
Perform tasks as assigned by area supervision or designee
Perform Environmental Monitoring tasks in support of Steriles production within classified areas using aseptic technique and gowning
Withstand extended periods of standing/walking and bending
