CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Our mission is to stop breaches, and we have redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large-scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day, with traffic that is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they rely on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe, and their lives moving forward. We are a mission-driven company that cultivates a culture of flexibility and autonomy, empowering every CrowdStriker to own their careers. We are seeking talented individuals with passion, a focus on innovation, and a commitment to our customers, community, and each other. The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA/Operations Engineer to join our software interoperability lab team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and owning test infrastructure and test execution. This includes analyzing test results, responding to alerts from monitoring systems, escalating issues, managing system OS image creation, managing third-party applications, and reimaging endpoints. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in environment troubleshooting, building and owning test environments, and ensuring comprehensive coverage of our product's interactions.

What You'll Do

  • Investigate and troubleshoot failures of test cases or crashes of our products or the applications we are exercising.
  • Trace root causes to application compatibility issues versus environment issues with our test framework.
  • Analyze application and environment problems and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
  • Escalate failures to product development teams if issues are reproducible and can be traced to our software.
  • Troubleshoot alerts from our lab monitoring system and remediate outages as needed.
  • Remediate our endpoint systems to ensure maximum uptime of our test environment.
  • Research software needs and test plans.
  • Administer lab machines, including physical hardware and virtual machines:
    • Create golden images of operating system configurations combined with desktop applications and server software.
    • Update golden images as needed (e.g., higher or lower patch levels).
    • Manually run product test cases as needed to perform environment validation.

What You'll Need

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (e.g., Terraform/Ansible).
  • Ability to analyze test results, investigate issues, and troubleshoot test failures effectively.
  • Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., TestRail/Xray) and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment or independently.
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, automation, and integration testing.
  • Exposure to CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, Git, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Python and shell scripting.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Comfort working in Windows, Linux, and Mac environments.
