Requirements

Candidates must possess 5+ years of experience in building, delivering, enhancing, and maintaining APIs consumed by multiple systems using Python-based frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask, along with proficiency in performance optimization techniques like async processing, caching, and query optimization, experience with relational databases, ORMs, and SQL, and the ability to translate business goals into technical solutions, demonstrated success within high-performance teams, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

The API and Microservices Development Lead will lead the development of The Motley Fool’s investing microservices, oversee systems and data vital to the company’s investing products, websites, tools, and subscribers, including U.S. and international market data, portfolio holdings, and corporate actions, integrate with third-party providers, ensure data freshness and availability, collaborate with the product owner and project manager, conduct regular one-on-one meetings, review code, optimize delivery flow, promote team development, and partner with in-house and external teams to launch customer-facing solutions, utilizing AI tools to support the team’s architectural and development efforts.
