Requirements

  • University degree
  • Five years of supply-chain or operational procurement experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing teams
  • Experience managing cross-functional, multi-cultural, and dispersed teams
  • Demonstrated excellent understanding of procurement, MRP, inventory, and production principles
  • SAP / Six Sigma training desirable
  • Fluent English

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of 10 buyers plus interns, provide leadership on their development, and serve as an escalation point to ensure deliveries of products according to requirements
  • Lead disciplined operational rhythm and cadence to mitigate purchasing-related issues
  • Drive continuous improvement of purchasing processes
  • Support talent growth, including development, goal setting, and performance management of all direct reports, as well as identifying talents within the team
  • Drive organizational changes, review roles and responsibilities, and empower employees to drive important decisions
  • Lead the operational rhythm (cadence) to ensure resolution of all purchasing-related issues, such as past due delivery execution and critical parts deliveries affecting customer satisfaction
  • Manage team to ensure low turnover rates, manage employee expectations, help create development plans, create career ladders, network with other leaders, and develop interns
  • Monitor operational objectives (KPIs) related to supplier performance (On Time Delivery, Average Weighted Lead Time, Past Dues)
  • Drive Supplier Performance Improvement Reviews for problematic suppliers requiring Supply Management focus
  • Empower the team to drive process improvement initiatives for procurement activities for all direct material teams
  • Drive purchasing process continuous improvement through elimination of variation and standardization of activities
  • Automate and improve ordering processes by implementing tools and methods (e.g., EDI, Supplier Network Collaboration)
  • Provide on-the-job training and coach staff on procurement, including resolution of complex procurement requests and issues
