Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 7-10+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of spacecraft propulsion systems
  • Expertise in propulsion system modeling and analysis tools, and the ability to create your own analysis tools
  • Ability to lead complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and deliverables
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (to conform to ITAR regulations)
  • Ability to work onsite at least 4 days per week in Centennial, CO
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to Long Beach factory and vendor sites
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, and driving

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and development of propulsion systems for advanced satellites, ensuring mission requirements are met
  • Oversee the integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing
  • Develop and implement novel propulsion technologies and architectures to enhance system performance and reliability
  • Conduct performance analysis and simulations of the propulsion system
  • Drive system-level trade studies to select optimal propulsion technologies based on mission objectives and constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including structures, avionics, and thermal, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion subsystems
