Requirements

  • Demonstrate project management fundamentals for managing engineering projects (e.g., plant/process facility design, pipeline design, construction, operation/maintenance, measurement/regulation/control facilities, gas treating/compressor facilities, product storage, pumping/loading/handling facilities, SCADA/DCS/PLC systems, processing equipment like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, coolers)
  • Collect, review, and disseminate information on engineering services, scope definition, estimating, scheduling, design, bid preparation/bidding, procurement, construction, record keeping, right-of-way, and environmental activities
  • Perform project risk analysis, including use of Monte Carlo simulation, providing inputs and reviewing results
  • Develop business cases, determine project development phase, perform gap analysis on deliverables, describe program management principles, generate program objectives/critical success factors, and ensure project alignment
  • Write scope definition documents, develop scope change management procedures (including formal MOC), and use similar documentation from prior projects
  • Develop project control, interface, and scope change management procedures (including formal MOC)
  • Support development of optimal project solutions maximizing economic value within budgetary/resource constraints
  • Create cost plans (estimating, budgeting, control/reporting) using prior projects, including cost estimates, contract strategies, construction, quality assurance, equipment/material pricing, and labor productivity; assess scope change cost impacts
  • Support complex project activities across various engineering domains (as listed in 1)
  • Develop interface and stakeholder management plans using similar prior projects
  • Develop project schedules showing critical path, using similar prior project documentation; describe and apply scheduling concepts

Responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor, and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion with support from experienced resources
  • Lead project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply/subcontract management, progress reporting, troubleshooting, and people management
  • Ensure project results meet requirements for technical quality, reliability, schedule, and cost
  • Monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments, or resource additions (for small growth/maintenance capital projects)
  • Lead internal/external resources and communicate with company stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and customers
  • Blend interpersonal management and technical skills to achieve project outcomes
