Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of project management experience, including leading projects from inception to completion, preferably in a higher education setting. Recent experience working with Ellucian Colleague software for at least 2-3 years is required, along with functional or technical knowledge of Colleague. Strong verbal and written communication skills, well-developed active listening capabilities, and demonstrated ability to enforce standard processes and procedures are essential. Proven leadership skills to inspire and guide a team, ability to set clear expectations and hold team members accountable, and excellent team-building skills are critical. Proficiency in communicating project status to stakeholders and skills in identifying, negotiating, and resolving project issues are necessary. Experience in developing comprehensive project plans, communication plans, managing issues and change requests, designing and implementing policies and procedures, managing overall project schedules, mitigating project risks, and writing various reports is required. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience and PMP certification are preferred.
The Project Manager will define and establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables. They will forecast required resources, develop and monitor project budgets, and create, manage, and update detailed project schedules and work plans. Responsibilities include providing regular project updates to stakeholders, overseeing vendor and supplier contracts, assigning tasks, and communicating expected deliverables. The Project Manager will apply industry best practices, continuously monitor project progress, make necessary adjustments, and evaluate project performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. They will also foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
