Requirements

  • Knowledge of complex regulations specific to the environmental waste industry
  • Knowledge of management principles and best practices, including analysis, evaluation, and research methods and strategies
  • Knowledgeable of current industrial safety practices, industrial hygiene, and hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal operations
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with technical aptitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgment, and select effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of projects for clients or at client sites/facilities
  • Ensure contractual requirements and work scopes are met
  • Validate regulatory compliance
  • Ensure health and safety on all aspects of field projects performed by Republic Services, Inc. and/or its subcontractors
  • Review field tasks and develop safety procedures associated with the scope of work and regulatory standards
  • Assess and validate that all subcontractors have appropriate training and certifications
  • Serve as the main point of contact to escalate issues, report daily activity, and ensure safe, compliant, and profitable projects
  • Manage resources to accomplish identified priorities personally or through on-site technicians/leads/foremen
  • Perform onsite customer service work, including regulatory inspections, participation in plant committees, waste characterization, shipping, profiling, and document preparation for waste streams
  • Work with customers to proactively establish reuse, reduction, recycling, and alternate treatment options, and develop and implement subsequent programs
  • Provide data and reporting to customers consistent with contract or purchase order specifications
  • Offer general guidance for RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Monitor subcontractor services for completeness or deficiencies
  • Assist in the implementation of technical systems, software, or solutions
  • Provide training and end-user support
  • Work closely with sales team to propose customer solutions compliant with regulations
  • Work with sales team to identify new opportunities and retain existing business
