Candidates must possess an AICP certification, a bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field, and a minimum of seven years of experience in master planning, urban design, zoning ordinance updates, economic development planning, housing studies, neighborhood planning, community planning, downtown planning, public involvement, smart growth/resiliency, land use issues, and business development. Strong communication skills are required, and experience with GIS platforms is preferred.
The Professional Planner will gather and analyze community profile data, project manage various planning projects such as recreation plans, downtown development plans, housing studies, and zoning ordinances, conduct project-specific research through data collection and analysis, stakeholder interviews, and community surveys, complete or oversee site plan reviews and zoning applications, leverage GIS platforms for data analysis, assist with business development by estimating fees and preparing proposals, maintain excellent client relations, attend meetings, engage in public input, and drive business growth through strategic initiatives.
