Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or highway design, and be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota with a minimum of 5 years of highway design and plan development or related transportation experience. They should also have experience with CADD software and strong interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication, the ability to write proposals, specifications, and reports, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
As a Professional Engineer, Civil - Highway Design, the candidate will prepare design calculations and plans for highway design projects, collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment, oversee the entire project lifecycle from preliminary design through construction, mentor and contribute to the development of less experienced professionals, and possess strong working knowledge of MnDOT design and plan standards.
