Requirements

  • Five years of manufacturing experience, at least one year of manufacturing leadership preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment that leverages Lean principles such as 5S
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex problems using all available tools and assistance
  • Interest and ability to learn new skills and subject matter to stay ahead of new challenges, designs, and processes
  • Understanding of different manufacturing processes
  • Ability to lead a team of skilled production technicians
  • Ability to quickly pivot and make good decisions to help meet challenging deadlines
  • Ability to suggest and implement creative solutions to novel problems
  • Above and Beyond Qualifications
  • Three years or more of leadership in manufacturing
  • Experience creating or implementing a 5S program
  • Experience in the Aviation industry, electrical vehicle industry or a similar field
  • Experience configuring and working with an Enterprise Resource Planning System such as PLEX
  • Experience with high-voltage systems
  • Experience in an R&D or startup manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CAD
  • Experience designing or managing the design and development of tools, jigs, and fixtures
  • Experience developing or writing work instructions
  • Experience with digital work instructions
  • Experience with smart digital tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily team meetings and represent the team in cross-functional stand-ups
  • Provide first response to problems and challenges on the production line
  • Help the team solve problems using own knowledge and input from engineers and test technicians
  • Ensure quality, safety, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement
  • Manage programs such as FOD (foreign object debris) management and 6S/5S
  • Meet regularly with every team member to discuss development, performance, personal and team challenges
  • Coach team members on career development and solicit feedback on performance and work environment
  • Hire and make staffing decisions for the production team
  • Manage staff schedules to ensure due dates are met and training opportunities are provided
  • Assist in problem-solving on production and R&D parts and assemblies
  • Use ERP system to track production KPIs, track and move material, schedule work, and solve problems
  • Help team members manage their time, including time spent on manufacturing-related projects
  • Identify challenges, suggest and help implement solutions
