Requirements

  • High school diploma with 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid problem solving, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and understanding of FDA QSRs and ISO standards (preferred)
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week in general office, laboratory, cleanroom, and production lab/Controlled Environment Room (CER) environments
  • Potential business travel 0-10%
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, move between buildings and floors, remain stationary for extended periods, use microscope/cleanroom/laboratory/office equipment, and communicate accurately daily
  • Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all day or swing shift production activities and ensure processes follow standard operating procedures
  • Supervise production and pilot lines; coordinate scheduling of people, materials, and equipment
  • Manage work orders: process timely, identify/address delays, collaborate with Planning on mitigations to prevent backorders
  • Maintain continuous improvement environment via lean manufacturing, employee coaching, kaizen events, and KPI monitoring
  • Attend/participate in master schedule meetings; drive team to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals without compromising quality; address/escalate line issues
  • Maintain strong presence on lines; own, understand, and communicate processes to stakeholders; collaborate with engineering on technical issues
  • Select, manage, train, and develop staff; establish objectives/assignments; provide feedback via performance reviews and development plans
  • Interact with production, quality control, and process engineering to coordinate/resolve production issues
  • Prepare production reports and review log history reports
  • Adhere to local/state/federal laws (e.g., wage and hour), Company's Quality Management System (QMS), domestic/global quality regulations/standards/procedures, security/privacy/compliance principles
  • Ensure department follows QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
