Requirements

  • Ability to work specified shifts, primarily Night shift (e.g., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5:30 PM - 4:30 AM)
  • Working knowledge of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping
  • Ability to lead, direct, guide, and train production associates
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with supervisors, warehouse runners, and production associates
  • Attention to detail for quality checks on ingredients (accuracy, quality, shelf life)
  • Pragmatic problem-solving for production planning, waste management, and process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Obtain production plan and targets from the supervisor at the start of the shift
  • Set up portioning tables, meal bagging tables, and/or shipping lines according to SOPs, considering targets and associate numbers
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to get daily production plans and targets
  • Follow production schedules to ensure order completion within allotted timeframes
  • Communicate production targets, expectations, and performance updates to production associates
  • Ensure associates follow Home Chef policies/procedures and escalate concerns to the Production Supervisor
  • Prioritize and plan for potential product shortages, communicating exact needs to warehouse runners to minimize downtime
  • Conduct checks on ingredients for quality, accuracy, and shelf life before and during line operation
  • Ensure the table/pods have necessary labels, packaging, and product at shift start and for new activities
  • Communicate production targets and expected hourly rates to associates
  • Manage waste by ensuring no overproduction of portions or meal bags and overseeing associates to prevent unnecessary food or packaging waste; escalate quality concerns to FSQA and supervisor
  • Share recommendations for SOP improvements with the supervisor
  • Guide a line or table of production associates during portioning, meal bagging/kitting, and shipping
