PostHog is seeking a designer to help increase the number of successful products in the world. The company is full-remote and globally distributed, hiring within time zones GMT-8 to GMT+2. PostHog is known for its design and has built an awesome developer-focused brand over the last 5 years. They are looking for a scrappy designer who loves working iteratively, quickly, and reactively, and who can take ownership of projects and collaborate to deliver on time.

About PostHog

PostHog provides developers with a suite of products to analyze, test, observe, and deploy new features, including product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, a CDP, SQL access, and a data warehouse. Their mission is to ship every customer-facing product that software teams need, collect perfect customer data, and automate everything with AI.

Founded as an open-source project during Y Combinator's W20 cohort, PostHog achieved significant success with its launch on HackerNews. Over 175,000 companies have installed the platform, and they have secured substantial funding from top investors, generating mid-tens of millions in revenue through an inbound, word-of-mouth driven approach. The company is growing quickly but sustainably, with an average of 10% monthly revenue growth, focusing on product development, hiring exceptional team members, and achieving fantastic growth.

Responsibilities

  • Creating new product and feature launch assets (annotated screenshots, email assets, ads, etc.)
  • Designing graphics for social media (posts, header images) and changelog updates
  • Editing photos and formatting billboard designs for print (resizing, bleed, CMYK conversion, file delivery)
  • Creating supporting visuals for blog posts, emails, and social media, often by repurposing existing assets
  • Collaborating on ad creative, building variations, and exporting for various platforms
  • Managing the process for custom headshot illustrations, including coordinating with a contract illustrator and adding them to the website
  • Designing posters and print material for events
  • Creating assets for new merchandise drops (mugs, tees, etc.)
  • Overseeing sticker printing and quality control
  • Taking and improving product screenshots for the website and documentation, including image cleanup, resizing, and annotations
  • Ensuring marketing visuals are consistent and high-quality across all channels

Requirements

  • Love for design software, with a preference for execution over dreaming up new brand directions
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot minor misalignments
  • Comfort in juggling numerous small tasks across different formats

Interview Process

The interview process consists of 4 stages over 2-3 weeks:

  1. 30-minute call with People Ops
  2. 1-hour technical interview with Cory
  3. 15-minute call with James Hawkins
