Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge and experience in logistics and materials management in a mid-size ($10+ million) manufacturing business, preferably in a sheet metal and light assembly environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Industrial Engineering, or similar manufacturing-related fields (preferred)
  • APICS certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe procedures at all times
  • Ensure all departmental employees know and follow the appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs)
  • Manage customer service and production control personnel, including performance management and development of all team members
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Work productively and constructively with other major functions within the factory to improve on-time delivery, profitability, and quality ratings
  • Contribute to team effort by leading intra-departmental teams in review of processes to improve materials management functions
  • Actively participate in work center and cross-functional process improvement teams by attending meetings, completing action items, encouraging discussion, and understanding goals, alternatives, and solutions
  • Work with external customers to resolve technical and commercial questions or problems throughout the supply chain
  • Conduct all business transactions and communications professionally, congruent to company policy, and maintain confidentiality
  • Coordinate information and communication for releasing, tracking, processing, and shipping parts per customer requirements
  • Report and track on-time delivery performance
  • Maintain and improve existing inventory control system and related processes within corporate policies and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Develop and implement production and procurement policies meeting customer needs and financial objectives
  • Monitor and control factory inventory levels, including raw materials and finished goods; identify and correct inventory errors; monitor and disposition obsolete inventory with corporate and controller interaction
  • Occasionally work short periods in another Sonaca North America facility to accommodate customer requirements or workflow variations
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager or other management team members
