Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or related experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment (Steel or tubular manufacturing preferred)
  • Good knowledge of steel processes and tubular products
  • Experience in statistical data analysis and process analysis
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; ability to learn other software applications
  • Six-sigma green belt or better qualifications, an asset
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and reviewing product tests
  • Assessing surface quality checks
  • Ensuring products released conform to applicable standards
  • Investigating quality problems
  • Report writing and communication to various levels of local and corporate management
  • Ensure material is released for shipping in a timely fashion
  • Request chemical and mechanical testing as needed
  • Evaluating surface inspection results
  • Navigate all software packages related to certification
  • Report on quality problems to local Ops
  • Assist in preparation of site QA documents and inspection procedures/forms
  • Review customer and industry specifications
