Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Injection Molding, or Plastics preferred) with minimum 2 years relevant work experience
  • Or Master’s degree in engineering with 0 years of experience
  • Willingness to relocate to Brooklyn Center, MN if not within reasonable commuting distance (in-person role)
  • Ability to meet physical job requirements, including independent mobility, computer interaction, and communication

Responsibilities

  • Develops manufacturing processes for Medtronic's portfolio of cardiovascular and neurological products (e.g., injection molding, welding, automated inspection, assembly) by planning and executing engineering studies to define process inputs
  • Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards, improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products
  • Reviews product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Interacts with product design and development personnel to ensure processes and designs are compatible
  • Leads the innovation, development, and/or optimization of new manufacturing concepts, processes, and procedures for transfer to manufacturing operations (including scouting, feasibility work, material selection, process/equipment selection, tooling/fixture installation, and assessment of inputs/outputs)
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
  • Other duties may be assigned
