  • Proven underwriting experience in Professional Liability/Cyber, Financial Lines and a successful record of selling products to clients
  • Deep technical expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of the US Financial Lines business (D&O, EPL, PTL, Cyber, Fidelity) including product features, forms, regulatory environment, and risks
  • Proven people management skills and a record of developing more junior colleagues
  • The ability to analyze financial statements
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Customer and sales-orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable

Responsibilities

  • Handle accounts/clients greater in scope and complexity than those handled by a Senior UW or Underwriter
  • Take ownership for achieving goals and outcomes in the Professional Liability/Cyber, Financial Lines team
  • Manage colleagues and oversee a range of programs and processes, in addition to handling complex underwriting
  • Balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and make sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, judgment, and a risk mindset
  • Build effective relationships with brokers and deliver a high standard of customer service as an example for the team
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and learning while mentoring and developing colleagues through effective leadership, role modeling, and training programs
  • Facilitate personal growth and career development, supporting succession planning
  • Play a key role in new business development, including attending broker events and building new relationships across the market
  • Increased involvement in the development of new business and industry networking, including conference attendance and business proposals
