Responsibilities

  • Elevate the quality of design thinking, craft, and execution across the team by owning and driving operating mechanisms like design reviews and customer experience reviews
  • Mentor and coach more junior designers and help them develop and grow as they progress in their career
  • Provide input and support to the VP of Design on recruiting and hiring, talent development, and team culture
  • Lead design vision and strategy for complex, high-impact initiatives across Opendoor’s customer and partner experiences
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and simplify complexity into elegant solutions
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data scientists to align business goals with user needs
  • Set a high standard for craft, usability, and accessibility across the design team
  • Mentor and coach designers, providing feedback and guidance that raises the bar across the org
  • Influence product strategy with user-centered insights, advocating for design thinking at the leadership level
  • Contribute to the evolution of Opendoor’s design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across products
  • Represent design in executive-level forums, driving alignment around customer experience outcomes
