Requirements

  • Expertise in supplier qualification, approval, and lifecycle oversight for direct and indirect suppliers of critical components/special processes
  • Ability to conduct risk-based routine audits to verify adherence to contractual, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in evaluating and approving supplier-initiated changes to ensure conformance with specifications, customer expectations, and regulatory standards
  • Skills in maintaining supplier status through quality system assessments, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
  • Experience leading on-site containment and resolution of complex nonconformances using structured problem-solving (e.g., RCA/5-Why/Fishbone)
  • Capability to implement effective corrective and preventive actions with high independence and accountability
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams (Quality, Operations, Engineering, Procurement) to address root causes and drive improvements in defect rate, rework, and OTD
  • Leadership in governing First Article Inspection (FAI) and Material Review Board (MRB) processes, ensuring timely execution, compliance, and disposition
  • Experience representing teams during external and third-party audits or inspections related to supplier management, FAI, and MRB
  • Proficiency in establishing and standardizing inspection methods, procedures, gauges, and measurement systems (e.g., MSA/GR&R) with suppliers
  • Skills in providing reporting on supplier performance, quality trends, and systems, leveraging data for defect prevention and continuous improvement
  • Ability to serve as a technical leader, audit representative, and mentor

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and approve direct and indirect suppliers of critical components/special processes to ensure consistent, compliant output
  • Maintain supplier status through rigorous quality system assessments, performance monitoring, and targeted corrective actions
  • Evaluate and approve supplier-initiated changes to safeguard conformance with specifications, customer expectations, and regulatory standards
  • Conduct risk-based routine audits to verify adherence to contractual, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead on-site containment and resolution of complex nonconformances and escapes, applying structured problem-solving and corrective/preventive actions
  • Exercise judgment using multiple data sources to drive measurable improvements in defect rate, rework, and OTD impact
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to remove root causes and achieve continuous improvement
  • Lead and govern FAI and MRB processes, ensuring timely execution, compliance, and effective disposition of nonconforming material
  • Represent the team during external and third-party audits or inspections, addressing inquiries on supplier management, FAI, and MRB
  • Establish and standardize inspection methods, procedures, gauges, and measurement systems (e.g., MSA/GR&R) with suppliers
  • Provide clear reporting on supplier performance, quality trends, and systems
