Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years specializing in backend systems. Strong proficiency in Java is required, coupled with deep knowledge of system internals and expertise in distributed systems. Proven leadership experience in project delivery, familiarity with cloud technologies, and a keen understanding of fraud detection and risk management are also essential.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing microservices architecture for scalability, optimizing microservices for efficiency, implementing robust observability mechanisms, improving the availability of microservices, building and deploying multi-homed systems across multiple regions, developing systems that function across various cloud providers, designing and open-sourcing data processing, storage, and retrieval systems at the petabyte scale, and ensuring scalability while maintaining cost-effectiveness. You will also lead troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing performance, and actively mentoring engineering teams.
