Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the medical device or regulated industry OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of analog circuit design and simulation
  • Strong working knowledge of microcontroller system architecture
  • Strong working knowledge of lithium-ion battery design techniques including PMICs, fuel gauges, and protection circuits
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless charging and Qi protocol
  • Strong working knowledge of power and energy consumption analysis

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize lithium-ion battery power management circuits, including PMICs, fuel gauges, protection techniques, and wireless charging circuits compliant with Qi protocol
  • Conduct power and energy consumption analysis to ensure efficient device operation and maximize battery life
  • Drive PCB design and schematic capture, working closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure best practices for manufacturability, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance
  • Lead the design, development, and verification of analog and digital circuits for medical device applications, focusing on reliability and compliance with regulatory standards
  • Design microcontroller-based systems and sub-systems, selecting appropriate components and ensuring robust system integration
  • Integrate and troubleshoot voltage regulators, RF and BLE communication modules, and advanced lithium-ion battery technologies
  • Collaborate proactively with systems, embedded software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs within the overall device architecture
  • Participate in risk analysis, design reviews, and root cause analysis for electrical issues
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and review their designs for quality and compliance
