Requirements

The candidate should possess a Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Socioeconomics, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in FMCG, Retail, Consumer Research, or a related industry. Proficiency in Python and ideally R is required, specifically for data extraction, cleaning, root cause analysis, and visualization. Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL for querying large databases is essential. Additional advantages include experience with PowerBi reports or Shiny Apps, strong data engineering and process optimization skills, and a solid understanding of basic statistics for data analysis. Knowledge of the European market, consumer behavior, and receipt collection methodologies is also beneficial. Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, and leadership skills are necessary, along with strong time management, coordination, and project management abilities to maintain an end-to-end overview. The ability to navigate challenging situations and solve problems effectively is also a requirement, as is a positive attitude and motivation to engage with the team.

Responsibilities

The Principal Data Scientist will be responsible for shaping and activating innovative processes to measure consumer shopping behavior, serving as the Single Point of Contact for measurement innovation across Europe. This role involves collaborating with in-market and global teams to ensure successful product rollout, stability, and quality. Key duties include developing methodological frameworks for market-specific implementations, ensuring technical accuracy, and driving scalable, reliable, and automated solutions, particularly in price estimation and imputation.
