Position Overview

Model N is seeking a Principal Consultant, Medicaid, to join our Business Services team. This role is crucial for supporting Medicaid processing and serving as a subject matter expert for other operation team members. The Principal Consultant will provide advice and guidance on Medicaid rebate management programs, aligning with client strategic priorities and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing client relationships, interfacing with clients to resolve specific issues.
  • Review and approve the setup and maintenance of customer contracts and data management within Model N systems.
  • Ensure Medicaid rebates are processed and paid according to government and contractual requirements.
  • Lead, review, and approve Medicaid rebate deliverables to clients.
  • Oversee the analysis and review of monthly and quarterly deliverables to ensure reports are submitted in accordance with contract terms.
  • Handle complex and/or varying types of pharmaceutical rebates.
  • Respond to customer and client inquiries regarding processing status, reconciliation questions, data discrepancies, and payment status.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop Medicaid rebate Analysts.
  • Collaborate with GP Pricing and GTN teams, participating in cross-functional meetings and providing insights and information as required.
  • Comply with all SOC controls and internal processes and procedures.
  • Support ongoing software product testing.
  • Continuously build detailed subject matter expertise and thought leadership in Medicaid processing and contracting, sharing knowledge with direct reports and peer groups.
  • Strive to improve business services processes and programs to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical industry with Medicaid agreements.
  • Experience working in a mandated deadline environment, effectively managing multiple client assignments and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to continually build detailed subject matter expertise in Government Contracting Compliance.
  • Ability to comprehend and learn complex government compliance requirements and apply this knowledge daily.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High accuracy rate and attention to detail, with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to produce client-ready deliverables for a high-level executive/professional client base.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
  • Essential ability to manage multiple and competing tasks across functional areas.
  • Technical ability to understand underlying data structures and handle large amounts of data.
  • Experience achieving and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Ability to deliver required periodic results with a high degree of accuracy and minimal management review.
