Requirements

  • Full knowledge of the Emergency Response Plan to deal with emergencies and security threats systematically
  • Ability to check and verify proper functionality of the Fire Alarm system and perform maintenance checklists
  • Able to perform repair, replacement, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on: tubing, fittings and air supply, pressure devices, level switches, temperature sensors, flow meters, regulators and valves, machinery lubrication, alignment of machinery, power drives, machine components, water pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, fans and blowers, pipes, valves and fittings, control systems (sensors, limit switches, PLC reading input/output feedback), compressors, all filters, belts, bearings, gearboxes, chains, welding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: create spreadsheets, print, etc
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word: write reports, create PDFs, attach pictures, format files, print, etc
  • Proficiency in CMMS System: create work orders, update them
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week and provide relief coverage as required

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain stationary mechanical equipment, such as steam boilers and ammonia refrigeration plants
  • Provide utilities, heating, and cooling for buildings and industrial processes
  • Read meters, gauges, and/or automatic recording devices at hourly intervals to verify operating conditions
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Overhaul and install new equipment
  • Record data such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, and chemical levels
  • Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended operating ranges, switch to backup equipment/systems, or shut down equipment
  • Visually inspect equipment on hourly intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication
  • Maintain equipment by tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders, and gauges
  • Perform water titration tests and pour chemical additives such as water softener into treatment tank to prevent scale buildup and clean boiler lines
  • Record operation and maintenance actions in shift operator’s logbook
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following/enforcing standards, procedures, and complying with legal regulations
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Generate parts requests to ensure adequate inventory
  • Complete work orders as assigned by Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Supervisor and/or Chief Engineer
  • Perform general housekeeping in the maintenance department and maintain cleanliness of shops
  • Operate and maintain effluent treatment plant
  • Pump and maintain cooking oil storage
  • Perform other duties as required, such as pumping oil, cooking oil management, routine maintenance of effluent treatment plant
