Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field, along with over 5 years of experience in power electronics design focused on SiC-based technologies. A strong understanding of SiC device physics and proficiency in designing DC-DC, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters is required. Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or PLECS is essential, along with familiarity with high-frequency switching, gate drivers, and magnetics. Knowledge of thermal management and packaging techniques for high-power systems is also necessary. Preferred candidates will have experience with wide-bandgap semiconductors in automotive, renewable energy, or aerospace industries. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, are essential for this role.
The Power Electronics Engineer will lead the design and development of power electronic converters and inverters using SiC-based technology. They will perform detailed simulations to model SiC devices and optimize system performance, develop prototypes, and execute test plans for power electronic systems. The role involves analyzing and implementing effective thermal management solutions and developing high-efficiency power systems for applications such as electric vehicles, industrial motor drives, and renewable energy systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to ensure seamless integration of SiC-based components, while also ensuring designs meet industry standards and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the engineer will create detailed engineering documentation, including technical specifications and design reports.
