Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required, plus equivalent of six months relatable experience and education
College or technical degree preferred
Desired minimum of one to three years of diagnostic and/or repair experience in cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, programmable controls, pumping systems, mechanical aptitude, and/or process instrumentation
Regular and predictable attendance essential; may require long hours, on-call responsibilities, and participation in on-call program

Responsibilities

Assist Air Separation Unit (ASU) with plant start-ups, shutdowns, and outage repair work
Perform all preventative maintenance for Anchorage Fill Plant, Palmer Facility, and ASU in compliance with company policies and timelines
Assist Field Service Technicians with larger scaled projects at Airgas facilities and customer sites
Monitor and maintain safe operation of Air Separation Facility producing cryogenic products; monitor remote VPSA plants on rotating on-call basis
Service, inspect, use, and maintain shop tools/equipment per manufacturers’ procedures
Share on-call responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted plant operations
Perform quality control functions for products to maintain quality assurance
Prepare and maintain accurate records for safety, quality, regulatory, and production requirements (e.g., plant readings, maintenance)
Determine need for immediate maintenance and inform direct manager
Take initiative to improve facilities (operations, reliability, costs) within budget and communicate with Plant Manager
Perform administrative functions (requisitioning, purchasing, production accounting, PO closure, receiving, time inputting)
Interact professionally with internal/external customers and work as a team player
Prioritize workload to maximize time on equipment at internal/external locations
Install, extract, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair bulk tanks, valves, cryogenic pumps; perform operational tests
Operate and maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders
Regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, monitoring devices for facility equipment and buildings
Answer technical questions from internal/external sources
Maintain plant appearance with housekeeping responsibilities
Perform any reasonable work request within qualifications
