Job Description: Finance Administrator

Employment Type: Contract - Hourly

Position Overview

This position reports directly to the Plant Controller. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, a quick learner, and able to remain focused while multi-tasking in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate receiving of materials & finished goods in the ERP system.
  • Generating short-weight reports for quantitative discrepancies.
  • Maintaining the GRN (Goods Received Note) Audit Trail – reviewing items received during the week to identify discrepancies.
  • Line downtime reporting and consolidation.
  • Assistance with accounts receivable and payables responsibilities.
  • Maintaining records for beef import quota.
  • Supporting the finance team in a backup role for production postings and other similar tasks.
  • Performing other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Skills and Education

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience in a general accounting or financial administrative position.
  • Education: Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of ERP systems.
    • Proficiency in software applications such as MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of disciplines to maintain and foster good working relationships.
    • Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy, to handle various work situations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong sense of teamwork.
  • Work Ethic:
    • Aptitude to act proactively, requiring minimum direction.
    • Ability for decision-making/problem-solving within predetermined guidelines.
