  • Minimum of 3 years as a Banking Branch Manager with strong leadership and branch banking experience
  • Experience with business development and community involvement
  • Federal registration requirements per the SAFE Act
  • Current knowledge of operational, product, and system changes/enhancements
  • Good risk management decision-making skills
  • Insurance licensing minimum expectations as outlined in MTS Licensed Banker Academy
  • Business Banking Specialist minimum expectations set by Branch and Retail Regional Manager

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities of the branch, ensuring overall success of the operating model including customer and employee experience, digital engagement, transactions/operations, servicing, and sales
  • Achieve overall profitability by directing sales and business development, meeting operational objectives, and ensuring the branch meets annual goals
  • Lead team through coaching, performance management, and setting priorities; build and develop branch staff
  • Identify Retail and Business Banking customer needs using M&T sales processes and tools to provide short- and long-term solutions
  • Proactively prospect and grow Business Banking relationships through outreach and build the bank’s community presence
  • Conduct interviews and select employees based on staffing model
  • Model and coach customer service and needs determination behaviors; reinforce Retail strategy execution
  • Ensure compliance with operational, security, control policies/procedures, consumer/business banking guidelines, preventing fraud, and protecting customer assets
  • Take ownership of complex account servicing and error resolution issues, including escalations; provide coaching to reduce future issues
  • Engage with team members and business partners as appropriate
  • Independently process Business Banking loan requests up to $100,000 and proactively bundle products/services
  • Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls per company/regulatory standards
  • Promote a culture of belonging reflecting the M&T Bank brand
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator issues
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
  • Establish and maintain federal registration requirements (SAFE Act); stay current on changes and demonstrate risk management
  • Spend majority of time on proactive sales and outside calling to grow business, with some time servicing existing customers
  • Build productive partnerships
