Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 6 months of experience working in a pharmacy, an active and valid Pharmacy Technician License and/or Certification as required by the state of TN, 6 months of work experience with Windows-Based applications such as Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications, 6 months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude, and the ability to sit or stand for the duration of a shift (8-10 hours). Excellent communication skills and adaptability and flexibility are also required.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician will assist in accurately reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system, including the calculation of doses and assignment of directions, and accept proper insurance payment in a timely fashion. They will also contact doctor’s offices and insurance companies to ensure the accuracy of patient’s specialty medication orders, answer patient calls to coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders, verify and re-verify benefits, and work in a fast-paced environment demonstrating compassionate and genuine care for patients and customers.
