  • Pay Range: $17.00 - $25.65 per hour (based on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors)

CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for its Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy team in Tennessee. This role involves accurately reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system, calculating doses, assigning directions, and processing insurance payments. You will also contact doctor's offices and insurance companies to verify prescription accuracy and handle patient calls to coordinate and process new medication orders and reorders, including benefit verification. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and data entry skills, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate compassionate care for patients and customers.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications:
    • 6+ months of experience working in a pharmacy.
    • Active Valid Pharmacy Technician License and/or Certification as required by the state of TN.
    • 6+ months of work experience with Windows-Based applications (Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, email).
    • 6+ months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude.
    • Ability to sit or stand for the duration of the shift (8-10 hours).
    • Must be able to utilize a keyboard and operate departmental machinery.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Adaptability and Flexibility.
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three months of experience handling and resolving customer needs over the phone.
  • Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, and prescriptions.
  • Experience in Medical Billing, Coding, or other Medical assisting roles.
  • Customer service experience in an office environment.
  • 6+ Months of professional work experience involving inbound and/or outbound phone customer service.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs.
  • Excellent data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately read, interpret, and enter prescriptions into the computer system.
  • Calculate doses and assign directions for prescriptions.
  • Accept proper insurance payment in a timely fashion.
  • Contact doctor's offices and insurance companies to ensure the accuracy of specialty medication orders.
  • Answer patient calls to coordinate and process new patient medication orders and reorders.
  • Verify and re-verify patient benefits.
