Requirements

  • Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting the bar for the pharmacy team
  • Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and lead through change
  • Identify and address performance opportunities, support novel program awareness, onboard new hires, and recognize colleagues
  • Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), managing performance through observation, feedback, and annual reviews

Responsibilities

  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and follow-up
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, especially protecting cold chain products
  • Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, including CVS workflow training, ensuring timely completion of required training/licensure
  • Escalate issues or concerns to the Rx DL for support as needed
  • Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues for the pharmacy, ensuring timely training completion for licensure
