Requirements

  • Recent pharmacy school graduate (within 120 days of graduation)
  • Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice
  • Readiness to complete a comprehensive training roadmap under direction of preceptor and District Leader
  • Knowledge of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), pharmacy professional standards (e.g., corresponding responsibility, red flag detection)
  • Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
  • Demonstration of empathy, genuine care, and contribution to a safe, inclusive culture
  • Ability to operate under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist where required by state regulation

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathy, genuine care, personalized moments, immunizations, services at register/phone, and solving/escalating patient problems
  • Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit medical history for optimal care (under direct supervision)
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers, clarify prescriptions, facilitate medication changes (where allowed by state regulation)
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to team members and share best practices
  • Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories) as permitted by law and directed
  • Live company purpose by following all SOPs to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing/improving patient health
  • Contribute to high-performing team, embracing continuous improvement
