Responsibilities

  • Apply pharmacy school learning to real-world practice under supervision
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, covering store, district, and regional operations
  • Deepen understanding of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review (DUR), corresponding responsibility, and red flag detection
  • Assist pharmacy team in smooth operations, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and pharmacy workflow at workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
  • Provide caring service exceeding patient expectations, demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and compassionate problem-solving
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences, including offering immunizations/services, counseling (when appropriate under supervision), fielding medical questions, and soliciting medical history
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to team members, sharing best practices
  • Perform basic inventory activities (e.g., putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stock, waiting bin inventories), as permitted by law and directed by leadership
  • Take on increasing accountability for pharmacy management, oversight, and operations as tenure and readiness increase
  • Embrace a high-performing team culture, promoting safety and inclusivity
