Responsibilities

Live the company's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching pharmacy team members, following up on performance, and providing feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; write pharmacy schedule if directed
Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care services where permissible; empower the pharmacy team to provide such services
