Requirements

Responsibilities
Receive prescription and refill requests from customers and/or clinics and fill them efficiently, accurately, professionally, and courteously
Dispense medications as prescribed; oversee accurate retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, mixing, packaging, and/or labeling of products
Provide medication counsel to customers on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding use, dosage, drug interactions/side effects, storage, etc
Order, stock, check inventory, perform cycle counts, and maintain familiarity of prescription and over-the-counter items in the pharmacy
Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count, weight, condition, and store products in appropriate areas
Handle outdated/damaged products per established guidelines
Maintain pharmacy records including customer profiles, insurance forms, pharmacy record/POS systems, inventories, control records, and registries (e.g., poisons, narcotics, controlled substances)
Lead and/or oversee pharmacy technicians and/or interns to ensure efficient and accurate service
Communicate with the Pharmacy Manager about potential concerns
Maintain a clean and well-stocked department ensuring compliance with company standards
Maintain and implement pharmacy programs (e.g., security measures, immunizations, other clinical programs)
Provide clinical care services as assigned
Advise customers on the use and storage of prescription and non-prescription drugs
Order and maintain supply of pharmaceutical stock
Understand and communicate company service and loyalty programs; model high standards of customer-oriented service
