Requirements

  • Proficiency in maintaining and reporting data, evaluating results, identifying gaps, and developing strategies
  • Flexibility with hours based on need and ability to travel/rotate between Voorhees, Mt. Holly, and Camden hospitals (no weekends or holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement a perinatal bereavement program, including perinatal palliative care, with ongoing daily management per corporate standards
  • Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, ancillary departments, and pre-hospital providers
  • Stay informed of local/national programs, innovate development, implement best practice changes, and monitor effectiveness
  • Continually evaluate program effectiveness using customer voice to evolve content per best practices and needs
  • Conduct patient follow-up after perinatal loss within Virtua system and community (as requested)
  • Provide timely contact, education, clinical analysis, individualized care plans, and resources to parents post-loss/diagnosis
  • Communicate clearly to parents regarding facts, options, and choices as a medical team member
  • Provide bereavement sensitivity training and education to Virtua staff, physicians, health organizations, and community groups
  • Maintain list of bereavement community resources; coordinate and facilitate support groups
  • Serve as resource/support for women with perinatal loss outside Virtua system; provide seminars/education (travel required)
  • Maintain and report data; evaluate results; identify gaps; develop strategies to fill gaps
  • Monitor and track overall program effectiveness, adjusting as needed
