Candidates should have proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and CUDA, along with familiarity with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. An understanding of various filters and their applications is required, as well as basic proficiency in Rust. Experience with maritime or autonomous vehicle projects, signals processing, sensor fusion, and low latency inference and tracking pipelines is a plus.
The Perception Software Engineer will develop and optimize computer vision and machine learning algorithms for object detection, classification, tracking, and scene understanding. They will integrate data from various sensors to provide a comprehensive perception system for autonomous surface vessels, implement real-time data processing pipelines, and collaborate with data annotation teams to create labeled datasets. Additionally, they will optimize algorithms for efficient resource use, conduct extensive testing and validation of perception systems, maintain comprehensive documentation, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate perception systems into ASVs while staying current with advancements in the field.
