Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution and have at least 3 years of payroll and HR experience, specifically with experience in Slovenia. A strong working knowledge of local payroll and HR regulations and policies is required, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines accurately. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for client interaction and stakeholder alignment, complemented by strong interpersonal skills for explaining complex issues.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Expert will serve as a regional subject matter expert, owning end-to-end payroll execution for Slovenia and potentially other trained countries. This includes evaluating and selecting payroll software, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, and preparing and reconciling internal payroll reports for compliance with local tax authorities. The role involves owning critical local payroll and HR processes, such as setting up involuntary deductions and supporting employee onboarding and offboarding. Additionally, the expert will schedule payroll expense collections, reconcile collections to expenses, assess and improve processes for rapid growth, and stay informed of relevant local regulatory and policy changes, communicating these across teams. The Payroll Expert will also work cross-functionally to provide expertise on local payroll and HR matters and answer complex payroll and HR-related questions from employees and clients in the region.
