Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills to work with people from all levels of the company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (at least basic proficiency in MS Word and intermediate level of Excel)
  • Experience and knowledge with payroll laws in India and associated government bodies
  • Ability to multitask effectively (processing employee timesheets and expenses, capturing payroll related data from various sources, creating payroll reports and completing payroll tax filings)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with employees, managers, and third-party vendors
  • Detail-oriented to carefully review all documentation related to payroll processing
  • Ability to work independently with self-motivation
  • Good analytical skills to understand payroll system interactions, process new information, troubleshoot problems, and make adjustments
  • Process improvement skills (able to identify improvements)

Responsibilities

  • Administration of payroll for Syndigo India (approx. 330 employees) to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Provide external payroll bureau with all payroll data each month, including new starters and leavers, changes in fixed pay/title/department, variable pay (commission/bonuses), and allowances (Shift, Telephone/Internet, Team Lunch)
  • Review all employee expense claims and process for payment
  • Prepare monthly payroll reports for management review (e.g., total hours, headcount/turnover)
  • Check payroll reports from payroll bureau to ensure updates are correctly processed
  • Ensure payroll timetable is adhered to for payments on the last working day of the month
  • Complete all payroll related filings on time and make associated payments to tax authorities and pension providers
  • Reconcile payroll register with cost to company to payroll related payments and create payroll journal for posting to general ledger system
