Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have completed a formal training program as a Patient Care Technician, or equivalent certification. They must demonstrate a minimum of one year of experience as a PCT, and be willing to serve as a preceptor for new PCTs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to follow established protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician - PCT Preceptor will provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, evaluating vascular access, initiating and monitoring treatments, and documenting patient information accurately. They will also assist in patient education, perform pre and post-treatment evaluations, and ensure a safe and clean working environment, while supporting the organization’s commitment to quality enhancement and process improvement activities.
