Requirements

Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, and completion of a formal training program for Patient Care Technicians is required. They must demonstrate proficiency in basic life support (BLS) and be able to operate hemodialysis equipment under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician will welcome patients, inquire about their wellbeing, and evaluate vascular access for patency. They will assist in initiating and monitoring dialysis treatments, including blood flow and dialysate flow adjustments, and will observe patients’ response to therapy. Additionally, they will obtain vital signs, record treatment parameters, and report any significant changes in patient condition, ensuring a safe and clean working environment and supporting the organization’s commitment to quality enhancement.
